The Microsoft IT Academy Program is a college- and career-ready education program, designed to provide students with the 21st century technology skills necessary to acquire certification and be competitive in today’s rapidly evolving workplace.

Resources available through the IT Academy Program give educators the opportunity to stay up-to-date on the latest Microsoft technologies and easily integrate these technologies into new or existing curricula.

What is Microsoft Office Specialist?

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) is a globally recognized certification program – chosen by individuals seeking to validate their knowledge and skills on the Microsoft Office Suite. Students who attain certification tap the full features and functionality of the Microsoft Office system, resulting in heightened levels of individual performance, confidence, and differentiation.

MOS certification will continue to produce success in the classroom and prepare students to enter the workforce. In a competitive job market, individuals use MOS certifications to differentiate themselves, prove their skills, enhance job performance and advance their careers.

Shenandoah Middle School is one of the few middle schools IN THE NATION which offers the Microsoft IT Academy. Our academy started in 2012-2013 and almost 100 MOS Certifications have been attained by students. These students may work towards expert certification during high school.  Students passing 3 out of the 5 exams may receive college credit while in middle school!
